“We’re bringing in architects and our clients and different consultants in one room and we’re viewing the drawing, the architecture and the massing through VU.CITY.”
Charlotte Orrell
Senior Planner at Iceni Projects
"Being able to extrude massing instead of waiting for the architect to send the model of a proposed development means we can start work on it ourselves."

“Architecture is essentially a 3D discipline, so VU.CITY is effectively showing what is already in an architect’s head in a way that hasn’t been possible before. The platform enables you to immediately understand the cityscape, the context, constraints, daylight, sunlight and the view angles, not just as it is today, but how it will be in the future. That’s incredibly valuable.”

“We're bringing in architects and our clients and different consultants into one room and we're viewing the proposals, the massing of the buildings from day one, and we're building basically the drawings and the architecture and the massing through VU.CITY”

"The practice is taking full advantage of the VU.CITY model platform to great effect. As a design tool VU.CITY is exceptional, the extent to which we can now substantiate our architectural proposals with supporting data and compelling verified visuals is a game changer. The team are going beyond the clear benefits the software provides to test both urban and townscape strategies on major projects to explore environmental and microclimate impacts.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions we're asked the most. Can’t find the answer you need? Just get in touch.

Can I add a model of a scheme I am working on into VU.CITY?

Yes, nobody else will see your scheme unless you share it with them, allowing you to collaborate with other VU.CITY licence holders online. You can also save projects, ensuring you can pick up where you left off when you log back into the platform.

How can I download geometry from VU.CITY?

All of the areas in the platform can be downloaded in .dwg format. We have split each city into a grid of 250m x 250m squares and you will shortly be able to select these from within the platform. Until then please contact sales on sales@vu.city and they will be able to provide you access to the required geometry.

We include two areas of 250m x 250m as part of your annual licence, additional areas are available at a reduce cost of £100 per 250m x 250m. Using VU.CITY greatly reduces the requirement to purchase additional geometry so we limit the amount you can purchase to 1 sq km.

How do I add a new user or city?

Currently you will need to speak to the sales team on 020 3889 7030 or sales@vu.city to add additional licences, we are working to provide this via our online portal soon.

Can I pay via invoice?

Yes, you are able to pay via invoice for annual subscriptions. Please contact sales at sales@vu.city and they will be able to provide an order form for signature.

Is there a student or academic licence?

Yes, VU.CITY offers free student licences and special course offers to equip the next generation of city makers with the latest visualization functionality to study and assess the impacts of change. Click here to see more.

How often is VU.CITY updated?

We add more areas, functionality, data or consents to cities on a weekly basis. Users are prompted to download updates when logging into the platform. Is there an area we don't cover yet - get in touch.
